Take your class on a magical journey back in time to the world of castles, princes, and princesses. This comprehensive video lesson series is designed specifically for Key Stage 1, using storytelling and imagery to teach the foundations of Ballroom Dance without the complexity.

Your students won’t just be learning steps; they will become “Royal Dancers”—wearing magic crowns for posture, walking like royal guards for balance, and floating on clouds to understand the Waltz.

How It Works: This 30-40 minute linear course requires zero preparation. As the teacher, your role is simply to facilitate and mirror the on-screen presenter. The series is broken down into bite-sized modules:

1. The Grand Entrance: Establishing the “Royal Posture” and safe spacing.
2. Rhythm & Games: Interactive clapping and stepping games to find the “1-2-3” Waltz beat.
3. Gliding & Sliding: Learning to travel smoothly across the floor using visual imagery.
4. Partner Play: A safe, non-contact approach to partner work using imaginary “golden ribbons.”

By the end of this adventure, pupils will be able to:

• Physical: Demonstrate “Royal Posture” (upright spine, balanced weight) and control their speed when moving (slow vs. fast).
• Technical: Perform basic Waltz movements (Step-Step-Close) in time with the music.
• Social: Work cooperatively with a partner, showing respect and awareness of personal space.
• Creative: Use imagination to change the quality of their movement (e.g., stiff like a guard vs. soft like silk).
