Dear Dance Teacher,

Learn how to hold a room.

You could have the best routine, the best music and the best exercises in the world. But if you can’t engage the people in front of you, none of that matters.

Do you make people feel good?
Can you make them laugh?
Do you make them want to come back next week?

I’ve watched incredible dancers struggle in a teaching environment because they couldn’t connect with who was in front of them. And I’ve seen teachers with far less dance ability absolutely smash a session because of their personality and presence. You just know which classes people will come back to.

Invest in your teaching skills as much as your dance skills.
