This policy explains who our courses are for, what you need before you start, and how we use a short welcome form to plan your support. Jackie and Jess
In short
- Our courses are open to learners aged 16 and over, with extra protections for 16 and 17 year olds.
- Each course page sets out who it's for, the time, costs and how it's assessed.
- A short form when you enrol helps us plan your support.
- Not sure? Ask us before you buy.
Before you join
- Each course page and course summary sets out who it's for, the entry requirements, time, costs and how it's assessed.
- If you're not sure, ask us. Some courses offer an optional entry clip or a short call.
Entry requirements
16 or over (see below); the dance experience stated for the course; able to film yourself; and, for teaching tasks, access to a group to teach.
16 and 17 year olds
If you're 16 or 17, you're welcome on all our courses and in our community. To keep you safe:
- your account starts with the highest privacy settings
- we don't send you marketing unless you choose to receive it
- we don't use your data to build a profile of you or to target adverts at you
- adults can't send you private messages, and you can't send them to adults, except your tutor or assessor about your course (those messages are logged and can be seen by our safeguarding team)
- our moderators know your account belongs to someone under 18
- Jess Porter, our Designated Safeguarding Lead, completes a risk assessment for under-18 learners
- for a paid course, a parent or guardian must agree to the purchase, or buy it for you (see our Terms of sale and membership)
- some teaching tasks need access to a group to teach and, for some settings, a criminal record check; the course page says so
Your welcome form
When you enrol, a short form asks about your experience, any support or adjustments you need, and your goals. We use it to plan support, not to exclude you. If a course isn't the right fit, we'll suggest another.
Prior learning
We don't currently accept evidence from previous learning in place of course tasks (recognition of prior learning). We'll review this by October 2027.
Honest information
We describe our courses honestly, we make no claims we can't back up, and we never pressure you to enrol.
